How cute....I should stop looking at cat/kitten photos or I'll succumb to getting another cat (we've not had a cat for a few yrs. now but previously have had cats all through our marriage). They are great company...and Casper is a lovely cat, San.

Thank you Casper....x We've discussed getting another but worry it will tie us down just when we've got some freedom in our retirement. Tempting though......I'd get a rescue cat too (an older one likely) if ever we did decide.

can understand that Wlass, even i thought about that to going away, but we have a lovely catery near by and casper was fine while we took joe, they have lovely up to date pens with back doors and cat flaps to an outside pen, and lovely grounds to look over, so its worth paying for peace of mind ;o))

Something to be considered, San...although being on pension it's all added expense to the cost of a vacation. Your cattery sounds lovely for when it's necessary to leave them in care.

i can understand that, it costs me about £6 in summer and £7.50 a day in winter cause of heating, but yes your right it does add to the cost of hols,

Tell you what...when I need a "cat fix" I'll just come on here and ask for meows from all the lovely kitties....lol

It's great you can entrust your pet to a good cattery, San. It so relieves any anxiety about leaving them behind. x

yes i went to alot before i decided which i could trust, they are a small family run one and treat them as their own, and the son helps at weekend and after school, he gives the cats lots of cuddles ;o)

I told my hubby the other week that I'd go to the Cat Protection League and ask if I could just visit and pet the cats...didn't do it though! (idle threat really...lol)

Gorgeous Casper looks so pleased to have found himself living in the lap of luxury in his new home Sandra. He certainly landed on his paws when you chose him....or was it the other way round? LOL

Hi Sanbaz , we have two rescued cats Sweetpea and Digby . Digby looks much like your Casper . He loves to fall asleep between the pillows on our bed .

Both of our cats and our two dogs ( Spike and Tina ) are rescued animals . Pat and I are members of the Animal Rescue Organisation whose work ( including treatment , sterilisations , education etc ) is centred on the underprivileged areas around Cape Town , operating mainly on members fees , donations and various fund-raising activities. We are retired and love visiting game reserves and other wildlife areas in South Africa and have posted some pictures which you might find interesting .

how wonderfull to do something thats helps animals, must give you alot of satifaction helping them, i have had a quick peek at your pics but will get through them at some point, im always saying to baz i would love to work with animals after being a hairdresser for years and getting a bit bored with it all now, so i keep my eyes open just incase something comes up close to home, but if not maybe do something with animals when i retire "charity work" would love that, anyway keep up the good work both of you, its great what your doing ;o))
