I thought I would never get it filled - took so much compost

I've made the same mistake too - even dumber was filling it up before I'd positioned it!!

Thanks EM I dread to think what the filled weight is? Oh I did get it into position first Meanie and there it will have to stay - non of my usual moving things around applies to this lol.

I love the Heucheras Drc my favourites at the moment , I have known people put polystyrene blocks or broken bricks half way up the pots to save on the compost , a good idea for plants that don't have a lot of roots .. !

I thought about that Amy but decided on crocks over the holes and then 1/3rd garden soil and on top of that John Innes number 3 and some bone meal to give the plants a good start.

It looks gorgeous drc, I have so many Heucheras but have never thought of planting them in pots..I must have a go sometime. :o)
