That's a beauty...is it going in a pot, or the ground, M ?

Probably the ground J. Altho...depends on when I get the roses planted by the gazebo. Then I might do a "pot" arrangement with one or two ornamentals. Must think about it!

When do you expect your gazebo to arrive? Excited to see it in situ, M.

By mid Nov latest. Being made especially as its not a standard diameter. Im quite excited too..sat here with a plan of the island, doing a colour sweep from orange to red to yellow to amber, listing all the plants and trying to get a balance of soft and sharp in shapes and, as ever trying to cram in too many plants!
Still trying to figure out climbers to tone. I can use clematis Avant Garde for the red side and someone has suggested a few good white ones to choose from with greeny tinges for the yellow side, but when it comes to amber and orange, looks like it will have to be a rose..I dont want anything too rampant you see.

You are coming along nicely with your colour sweep plans. I am pretty sure with all your pre-planning you will come up with a good mix....so a gazebo within the month :) Great, M.

Sometimes I think you can overplan and lose the spontaneous element..as long as I have a general idea..I find it better when I can put the plants on the soil..it never seems quite real on paper

Just reread my answer to you asking if Im planting the Heuchera in the ground J..mind outrunning fingers again! I dont really want any more pots, so need to empty a few before I plant up more...hence planting out roses first!

This is a nice one Tetra , your gazebo sounds exciting something to look forward to in this drab weather .......

We have had quite a nice weekend weather wise Amy but not sure how you have fared. Quite exciting weekend for us actually, have to take a couple pics and will post a blog tomorrow. Then we will be looking forward to the gravel and a circular paving kit to arrive and put down before the gazebo arrives and finally hope the ground will still be soft enough to plant the roses. I will leave the clematis until spring I think.
By the time we've finished guess it will be time to think of Christmas!

Lovely...
did you decide on a pot or in the ground..?
shade or sun ?

Hi TT, dont know which bit of UK you reside, but by time gazebo arrives (Tues) its going to be too wet to do anything. I have actually found a spare pot, so this looks so well with the Sweet Tea, I think I will pot together and enjoy on the terrace.

Looks like an unsettled week in many parts of the UK ...
the pot on the terrace seems a very good idea :o)

Well weve had the odd bit of sunshine, but every day (or night) we have had downpours and then showers in and out. I think Wednesday was the best day. So ground sodden, too wet to paint gazebo. So we will do it bit by bit indoors over the winter and "plant" it in spring lol!
