Name that bird, please? lol He's hanging on there for dear life...oh silly me....just seen your note that it's a greater spotted woodpecker! I sure do need those new glasses that are on order...lol
I hope I can attract some interesting bird life to our garden. I put out the peanut feeder and a cone shaped fat ball yesterday so I live in hope :)

What a reward for feeding the birds hey? Dont worry J, if you put out food, they will find it!
We have four different feeding stations and its surprising how the birds polarise. Sparrows, Starlings and Magpies on the fat balls, blue tits, great tits and greenfinches on the black seed, goldfinches on the hearts and a bit of everything on the peanuts. Longtailed tits on most things. Nothing eating the wild bird seed at present tho..

Hi Yorkshire. I was sat on puter and the camera was on the bookcase beside me luckily! And he stayed on there for quite a while, took half a dozen shots. Hilarious tho, some shots were quite clear of the bird, but not his beak..it was moving soo fast, it was just a blur, yet his head was quite clear.

patience paid off Tet, its a good photo, moving fast as he was probally trying to get as much food down as possible, hope he keeps coming back for you.

Lucky you, my fat balls have started to go mouldy, so must change them, then maybe I will be as lucky as you. Hope this is on ISB.

Second time OH has seen one, first for me. So there is hope Sanbaz, must be a twelve month since last sighting. I keep calling it he but its a female cos no red on head. Yes its on ISB, OG, under Dodo.
Oddly we dont hear them in the copse Arlene, probly road too noisy for us to hear tho Im pretty good at catching sounds. I heard a funny noise in the garden back few years ago and it was a red legged partridge on the garden wall!!
If I hadnt heard, I wouldnt have seen it.
Thanks TT, Amy,Meanie.
