How is your prunus subhirtella coping? I remember one year mine started flowering and the frost blackened all the flowers but then in the spring it produced a whole new load of blossom!..Wonderful tree!

Karen, the flowers are frozen, but yes, it should flower again when (and if) the temperatures rise later in the winter.

Thanks - I don't cut them back until the spring, then OH uses the hedge trimmer on them - much quicker than me with shears!

It's lovely to listen to a stream running along. The wildlife must love it.

Yes - we've had an occasional visit from a kingfisher, an egret, a heron, and several grey wagtails often come. It's a lovely background sound when I'm working outside. :-)
