I know what you mean my mum had one at the bottom of her garden was supose to of been a miniture one, she moved it to the bottom as she noticed it growing too big by the house, it ended up as big as this one, one winter 22 years later the snow fell that much it broke most of the branches down, so the son in laws cut it down for her, that too housed lots of birds, but they do block a lot of light and kill lawns if they shadow them.

Tel me about it, the house where it belongs is rented, and although myself and next door to me have complained to the landlaw who owns the property, well may aswell talk to the wall for all the good it does.:((

Lets hope Clarice that nature takes it s course then and hope that the snow brings it down with the weight settling on the branches, you will find its the cost of having it cut down is why he does nt have it down.

Balcony ... just caught up with your message here! Yes you're right. Strange but true ... snow fell in part of southern New South Wales and northern Victoria, especially around the ski resorts there in the Snowy Mountains. Snowfall in Summer in Australia ... weird!
There's been quite a bit of flooding across many areas of Oz over the last month or so, but right now it's northern Western Australia ... around Carnarvon in particular. Quite serious flooding all around there and they're still cut off.
We're actually expecting a deluge of rain in the next few days ... which will definitely cause problems because the almost constant rainfall we've been getting throughout Winter/Spring means the ground is totally saturated, so the water won't drain away very quickly. It's going to be a wet Christmas for us.

A wet Christmas for you & a white one for us! (Though frost, not snow!)
It seems its not a very strange phenomenon as there are records of it happening other years, snowing I mean, at Christmas during your summer. The flooding did look to be pretty bad & only this morning they said the same thing was happening in California. Thousands of people having to be evacuated because their house have been inundated with the flood waters, in some places the house have been completely washed away. Weird to see houses floating down rivers! An awful lot of people are going to have a terrible Christmas & New Year in Australia & America without forgetting the other many people without a house all over the world.
