Winter Sunrises

Winter Sunrises

Good deep sunrise at the house. At last the sun is starting to look like I might see it here soon. No sunrays on the house for 10 weeks now.

Thank goodness...don't know how on earth you survive it!

Thank you. I can't wait for there to be more light. This year has been my hardest so far, a little shut in with more cold. At least there are beautiful sights like this to enjoy. Still -25C or colder for months.

minus 25?? i cant even imagine it. do you ever really adjust to it?

26 Jan, 2011

I can't imagine it either & I don't think I'd adjust.

We adjust. you'd think the ice was melting at 0F -18C. Thats almost shorts weather after a long cold snap like this. But we know better. :-0

My ideal living temperature is 80-82 degrees. If I ever move again it'll be to Florida. Anything below 70 and I'm whining about the cold.

And we in England had a shock with -18 this year, can't imagine how -25 can be a good day! Such a beautiful skyline must make it worth it. Must admit the cold brought amazing sunsets this year.

Almost like cold can clean the air. I know it was difficult in such a mild place to get such an extreme. I've got my fingers crossed for those new gardens trying to establish a foothold.

I love those temps too Lauram, but the extremes are just so appealing to some deep part of me.

i think its fascinating that extreme temperatures are appealing - its a bit like waves in the sea - they do something so calming to me - but strangely its the big waves that i find almost intoxicating - is that something deep inside that needs to watch the sea - i wasnt born near the sea nor do i live there now but it somehow strikes a chord - i know my dad was like it as well
