I havent thought to smell it Sheilab, Ive just been so grateful its still growing! but ohh...so slowly! Unusual isnt it Yorkie? Ive had it a while and its still only about 30 inches high!

how would it grow if you moved it I wonder

How unusual. I didnt know that there was a pink variety of this. Have you tried taking cuttings from it Tetra, as the yellow one is very easy to strike.

I might try it in a month Cinders, trouble is its slow enough as a big plant..the cuttings might take years!!!
Ive already moved it once Yorkie, but guess will try somewhere else once its flowered.

I had no idea that there was a pink variety. I have the yellow but I need to rehome it because it doesn't do well in shade.

Beautiful plant, Tetrarch! Such delicate flowers! You are lucky to have it in your garden. The right name of this one is Abeliophyllum distichum Roseum.

Thanks for that Uma..takes me back to college days all those latin names! I think I will have to move it as it really hasnt grown like they said it would. However I do have lots of flowers this year.
Its more of a forsythia relative Lauram ..dont know who gave it the common name, but it is known by that.

Hi, Tetrarch. :) Your one is really beautiful with all those flowers. Here it is known as White Forsythia too or Pink one you've written if it's a pink form. Know and like this plant so it's in my wish-list. :)

Sheilabub, I went out this morning and picked a bit. Brought it back in to warm up (chilly out there!) and yes, it does have a sweet perfume, similar to that Sarcococca plant someone else put on here.

lovely, prefere this colour to yellow:o)

It really should be as prolific too Sanbaz..just not liking my chosen spots in the garden...yet!

im sure you will find just the right place , i find i move things about sometimes, as the garden looks different in summer to,so planting now you dont get the full picture

Id just as soon find the right place straight off. We are getting too old to plant everything once let alone twice plus! Well I tell a bit of a fib here, cos I stand over OH cracking the whip!

This is such a pretty, delicate flower- and a very good shot ,especially showing the tiny drops of water on the petals-brilliant :)
