First Hellebore in full flower 2011 by Dorjac

I decided to change my avatar to this photo from a snowman. The photo has come out in a 'permanent rose colour rather than the more purple shade it really is. That's convenient, as I am feeling another watercolour coming on. Me and permanent rose are on user friendly terms, so I think I will have a go soon. I have had a long tussle with a red squirrel in colour pencil in a big album I have, fair result. I've been a bit disheartened during February about the garden, as I have lost so many patio plants and will have to start over again. One reason not much on GoY is lots of social gatherings, so not all bad. Not much chance to motivate myself out into the dreary cold to start depotting dead plants. How do I get rid of the YOU by the side of the avatar?

The YOU means that the photo was posted by YOU. You can't get rid of it. I don't see it on your photos but I see it on mine. You will not see it on mine.
The flower is a lovely colour. Better than a snowman lol

That's come out a lovely colour, shame it's not actually that colour, but at least you can paint it! It has been so tough losing all the plants hasn't it.....disheartening. But I think we will all soon be back to 'full power' once the spring comes properly. We had a lovely sunny day here today and it certainly helped to make me feel better.

Glad to hear from you Dorjac. Sorry to hear about your beautiful patio plants. Your Hellebores are really beautiful. What a lovely colour. They would cheer anyone up!!!
We have had three beautiful days in a row Karen, and the rest of the week sounds good. It is amazing what a few nice days can do for the spirits.

Beautiful photo, what a lovely lot of blooms, Dorjac, nice to see you back again too :)
Like you I am feeling rather despondent with my garden, very wet still so I can't do any tidying up yet. I haven't even been in the greenhouse so nothing doing in there yet. I really need to be motivated but I need warmth :)

Gardening interupted yesterday by another momentous social event right out of the blue. GJ's sister visited with her carer by taxi.....not seen for about 8 years after a bit of a ding dong!! The sun was shining and I was motivated to sally forth into the garden to do something about the hoards of tiny geraniums in a tray delivered on tuesday and five Eryngium planus roots and 12 plug fuchsias from Tescos!! If this cold dull weather goes on I shall have to do whatever indoors!!! Thanks one and all for your comments. The next picture will be a watercolour of the pinkish Hellebores

Great! We all look forward to seeing your painting Dorjac.
You look as if you have a bit of gardening to do first.

I got a chance to continue with the planting out of plugs of tiny geraniums in larger cells and the fuchsias this afternoon. They will be in covered trays. I think I have caught up now I have some more compost from the GC. I even managed to water some Armillotox on algae and moss in the front and sideway. Pooh it has quite a twang of gas tar which is very persistent. Have not tried it as a vine weevil killer yet, but I was told on Goy that it is effective against Vine weevil and kills the eggs as well. I have used Provado, as I had a large pot of it. My Heuchera are tough old plants and have regrown the nibbled roots very well.
