Sparrowhawk3

Did you see on the human planet prog. last night, that they employ a sparrowhawk to keep the pigeons of the hotels in Dubai !! It works too!

Think it was a Falcon, Gm, amazing the way it circled round and returned to it's 'handler' ! I was glued to the screen watching it, fascinating stuff. : o ))

Wow! great birdy shot, well done you! I just wish our sparrow hawk hadn't killed all the doves that we once had here!!

They're going to do the same at the new Brighton & Hove football stadium soon ... they're not nicknamed 'The Seagulls' for no reason! I'd love to be there when that happens ... probably wouldn't allow a non football fan in though ... lol!

Lulu, why dont you get some more doves? Have you a cot.

The owner of the stud has a dove house. He got 6 doves, 5 were killed, got 6 more, all were killed. They may get some more but surely the same thing would happen again?

Hmmmm, a difficult one, you cant stop nature doing its thing can you, maybe the cot is in the wrong place perhaps nearer the house would put off the predator?

The cot was first by their house, they even bought 2 mirror balls to try and keep them away, didn't work. The cot's now moved but no Doves in it yet!! It is still a bit exposed though and time will tell!
