Oriental Poppies and Lupins

They look fabulous Dawn .they look so much better in a large group ........

Yes what a beautiful combination, my poppies haven't done so well this year, lack of rain.

Oh Kathy, this lack of rain has alot to answer for.

Wonderful, the colours work so well together and the flowers are gtreat. My lupins and poppies aren't looking great this year also, only now starting to flower.

They look wonderful together....and I love the colour of your poppies. What variety of poppy are they, Dawn? I've not seen a poppy like that before....usually see red ones. Very delicate with the lupins (makes me think the lupins are standing proud and protective of the poppies).

Thanks all. You'll be growing lupins , lol. They have brightened up the garden, I have to admit.

Whiston: No sure of the oriental poppy variety, was a plant my Dad bought years ago, this clump I split from the original and I've also grown some from their seed, in bud now and waiting to see if they come true. I can send you some seed later in the year, if you would like some, very easy to grow :-)

Lovely combination Dawn, very fond of Lupins. Shirley poppies and Russell Lupins come to mind.

Could your poppy be 'Coral Reef' Dawn? looks very like mine, if it is I got my seed from T+M Whistonlass.
