Yes the common name is JPweed. I love the strong dark purple stems with the whorled leaves..and yes when it blooms I'll bore you with some more pics! I love this plant too...I was thrilled to find it growing in numerous places beside the stream...the hummingbirds are queuing up!

Really!! Obviously nectar rich..well worth having. Your flora and fauna not the least bit boring!!!

LOL...thanks M. There is so much of it to appreciate. Always something new to see in my morning wander. (it's been raining buckets last few days...and today we had to go to Ottawa...but tomorrow will be morning wander time..heh heh ...)

Know how you feel, unless its something garden related, or family and friends, I find I resent interruptions to my morning wanders!!

found a really interesting raspberry yesterday..it's Rubus odoratus...have you ever seen a thimbleberry? That's the name they give it over here...it's like a very large raspberry the size of your finger's end? The blossoms are huge and look like briar roses...just put a pic in my blog. Today I've been out with the brush cutter trying to get rid of millions of ash seedlings. It never ends...I've run out of ambition that's why I'm sitting at the computer instead of being out there plugging along.

I have a feeling they call them tayberries or loganberries here. Dottydaisy has something similar in her garden, I saw the fruit, but not sure about the blossom.
I love clearing and tidying Lori, but must admit I take breaks by going on the computer. After a while I feel ready to go again and gird my loins for another onslaught! (However, NOT your kind of onslaught..think that would daunt the most dedicated at times)

today was not a good day...I was supposed to go to Yoga this morning but I took one look at the yard..and said nope!...If you need exercise, old woman, you better get out there and see some evidence of your efforts. took on the ash seedlings and they were legion...ran out of gas so I decided to spend some time on goY...After lunch, We went to Griffith and bought some more gas for the lawn mower and went to work again. Gave up at about 5 o'clock, just in time to start the barbeque... Had a steak for supper and that finished me..so here I sit in front of the computer. I think I'll call it a day and get to bed early so I can get an early start tomorrow. I'm assembling the greenhouse and it's metal with black plastic fittings...put it together in the heat of day...never realized how much metal expands with heat...all my connections need to be tightened! Have mercy!!! So that's tomorrows first item on the agenda...gahhh!

At least things werent loose enough to fall apart!! Look on the bright side lol!

Yes they have hung together quite well... I got into it about 7:30 this morning and came in around noon...made some progress but I'm sooo slow. The instructions are all cartoon...not a single English word to be found...That's as bright as my side gets!

I hate those instructions!

Been there done that, really hard work, don't envy you at all...few weeks ago I put a pic up of our previous house and garden...it's called overgrown garden...when you get time, have a look back, then you probably won't feel so daunted by yours, trust me lol ;o))

Thanks Crissue...will take a look. Just a quick update, though. the greenhouse is up, in time for the hot weather but come autumn I'll use it again. I have long lists of seeds I want to start and cuttings I want to take! I'm really looking forward!
