Alexandramou:

It's a relatively fast grower with lots of water...and it blooms when 2 or 4 years old if grown in the ground. My large tree took 6 years to flower for the first time, because it was in a pot. Its only real drawback is: it's a very tender tree, especially when young. I've read reports of mature trees surviving slightly below freezing for a short period. However, the trees experience defoliation and tip or branch die-back.

Having fragrance for sure is a bonus...:)))

Yes, it sure is...

It's funny because this tree is grown as a street tree and there's many trees in Balboa Park, here in San Diego. I just discovered the flowers had a fragrance in 2006 when my large tree bloomed. lol! :>)

Thanks! I love this tree! Years ago when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area I wanted this tree...however, I couldn't grow this tropical tree even in my frost-free climate there. This Congo African native tree is very cold and even cool weather sensitive.
