Pretty sure this is 'Golden Spirit' (they lose the yellow color if they get too dry). Holding up pretty good, especially compared to the crispy grass surrounding it.

They are nice plants especially for dry spells because they don't need much water. I planted a row of purple and yellow ones at my dad's house because I know he doesn't water plants haha. I just planted a 'Pink Champagne' smokebush and can't wait to see what that will look like.

There are some beautiful ones out there, 'Grace' and 'Daydream' both have very showy fall color. I'd like to get one of each kind and plant them all together in a large grouping with perennials.

I've been looking at the Dwarf varieties, it's the only way I could consider growing one...I rather like 'Young lady' & 'Golden Spirit'...either one would present themselves well...

They are both nice, I planted 'Golden Spirit' the same time as 'Grace' and they were the same size then. 'Grace' is 2-3x bigger now. I think 'Pink champagne' is a smaller one too but not 100% certain.

I don't remember what the inflorescences of Pink Champagne looked like (probably similar to Young Lady) but I've worked with a nursery that sold every variety available. It's definitely compact and the fall color was unforgettable, even nicer than Grace and that had very nice color too.
