Thank you Sticki and Sue. Sticki, I seem to remember getting advice from Chrispook ages ago, and was told to keep the seeds damp and in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Then (if I've got that right), I sowed them in the greenhouse around March or April. I'll see if I can look back, and confirm that.

i have now made myself a calendar on the computer ~ solely for the purpose of reminding myself to do such things as sow seeds at the correct time!!

next question [sorry] is when is it best to get the seed ~ look at the GC now or order on line?

Sticki - you're dealing with an amateur here!! I've looked back, but sorry, I can't find the original exchange about sowing Cleome. I honestly don't know the best time to get seed . . . perhaps it doesn't matter as much as the sowing time?

A calendar on your computer sounds an excellent idea - I'm sure I should do the same. :)
