What another sumptuous area Dotty, love it. Glad your grapes have gone well. Any idea what variety you have.
Dee, get a vine ..... I set an outdoor one last Summer and it survived the worst Winter ever, tougher than you expect I'd say.

Hub wanted to buy one from Morrisons Dawn, it had grapes on, you have got me thinking now! It was £13.99.

Mossy,Clarice, Muddy, Lil and Mot many thanks it is a very well used area especially when the weather is hot......
YDD they are hardy, we are growing two varieties on this pergola Vitis Boskoop red, and Vitis Vroege, white and we have another one down the garden Black Hamburg these are all dessert grapes, give it a try!!

I'll check my variety tomorrow, I know its a red. Grape vines make nice climbers.
Dee, I paid around £15 from mine from the garden centre last year, go for it, get one.

I am feeling very envious of all your grapes and even more envious of your sunshine! :))

Hubs eyes are on stalks lol...The one at morrisone had on the label, for wine making! doese that mean there not edible from the vine, sorry for being a noob lol..Dawn Dd im seriously thinking about it..

Karen, sorry but hot here yesterday and also today, tho been at work all day, looking through the window with guests sunbathing in the grounds, grrr.
Dee, I'm no expert but the wine making ones are usually sour to the taste (I think) ...... Make wine, problemo solved, hubby will be even more perplexed. My green grape vine in the greenhouse is around 50 years old, was my dear Dad's, big, sweet grapes when ready, make good wine too.

YDD look for a dessert or eating one see which ones they recommend for your area, loads of advice on the net. OHs father grew his in the greenhouse, but you don't have to, and they do live for a long time.

That looks a cosy, private, peaceful area :o)
30 Jul, 2011
It is TT not quite as private as we would like it to be, but, working on it!!
