We counted over sixty in about 40 minutes.some times we see them depends which way the wind blows.that is South east ,the sun rise over the trees.
one came down about a mile away and took down chimney stacks and tiles off a roof, that is unusual they are normally pretty good pilots

S.There are lots of shaped ones as well but they don't always travel as far as us,depends a lot on the weather.
A lot of them are built in Bristol by Cameron Balloons

Animals seem to hate them, HB - our ex-dog used to go crazy and both my cats shoot up trees when they hear/see them - I think it's the sound of the gas burners they don't like.

Wagger
I went up in one a few years ago and as we went over Bristol that was all you could hear dogs barking (was not very impressed)
However my Jamie takes no notice of them at all ,he focuses his attention on the Postman.

Our daughter went up in one a few years ago leaving us to look after our grandchild , we were still trying to work out how to open the pushchair long after they had disappeared over the horizon ..

Lucky postman, lol. My current cat, Misty (my avotar) used to come for walks in the woods with me and Ellie the Labrador - we used to go for miles but if a balloon went over she'd run off - in the wrong direction which meant me scrambling after her through the undergrowth getting scratched to pieces until I caught her then keeping her trapped under my arm until we got home. Even more fun if we met another dog when she'd shoot up a tree and I'd just have to sit down and wait until she came down again. I wasn't prepared to take the chance that she'd find her way home as I lost me previous cat for two months when he got lost in the same woods, they stretch for miles.

I can remember a very long time ago I was riding home on the horse and there were balloons quite low and on the last stretch of road there was a balloon just above that let its burner go and the horses eyes boggled and her ears twitched and I thought aye aye look out......I had to fight her back to the stable. Anyway apart from that I actuially had a balloon flight with Gerry on our 4oth anniversary a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed the flight.
