24 Aug, 2011
what does the label say tet ~ i dont remember what it says ~ i just saw blue!!
24 Aug, 2011
Mmmmm....there you go!
Probly that it needs ericaceous..but like you she falls for the colour...every time lol!
Im a fine one to talk..look who just bought a non hardy Pennisetum Rubrum..guess why? I loved the colour!!
24 Aug, 2011
i have that type of soil so i probably did read the label but although they dont die they dont do that well ~ not sure why.
25 Aug, 2011
they do like acid soil, my oh bought 3 in early summer, she too fell in love with the colour.needless to say i had to form an ericacious bed for them, they only came as small plants so no flowers this year? [she was a bit miffed] but they're growing ok, perhaps next year we can appreciate their beauty would like to see a fuscia that colour of blue?
25 Aug, 2011

26 Aug, 2011
Its not such a vivid blue Kev, but have you seen Delta's Sarah?
26 Aug, 2011
oh i like that one but although the nursery was growing a large one they had run out of the little ones for people to buy.
26 Aug, 2011
Oh I wish you had said! I bought a doz plugs, sold all but one and stuck it in the garden cos Im finished with driveway plant sales for this year.
26 Aug, 2011
can you take a cutting for me please?? if not dont worry its just one i shall get from the same nursery next year ~ they are not far away and anyway ~if i dont get it till next year i wont be able to kill it over the winter!!
26 Aug, 2011
I have one in the back garden Sticki..its been there for 3 years!
26 Aug, 2011
so its hardy as well ~ in bristol anyway!!??
26 Aug, 2011
Yes, its generally treated as hardy. It survived the last two severe winters without protection.
26 Aug, 2011
Excellent! No wonder it had sold out!
27 Aug, 2011
no i haven't, but will be keeping an eye out for it for next year. also like the sound of it being somewhat hardy, as i do tend to get vine weevil in my overwintering fuscias
27 Aug, 2011
There is some good info on vine weevil on this site. If you type it in the search box, you will no doubt find it.
28 Aug, 2011
