This one has been here for at least five years, just gets better and better.

I bought one that was supposed to be white ...and it was mauve... was all set to have it for a while and it didn't make it thro the next winter!! Guess I just got a weak one...or perhaps I could have placed it better. Maybe I should try again?!

Well, this one is not in very good soil, its very stony, don't know if that would be the reason or not. I have one further down the garden where the soil is richer and it is not doing so well. Food for thought .....

Good reading that Cinders...I've just replaced my Liatris after two years of not really doing much...these new ones have been planted in unsweetened light gritty, good draining Soil..which I've grown to like now, as so many of my plants seem to thrive in it...Obviously the ones that like a richer soil get it...i hope the new Liatris will do well, I really love this plant, and it's the only one of this shape, that opens from the top down, the foliage, is splendid too, and all adds to it for me...:)))

Good luck with the new one then Sue. I'm going to move my other one, which is pink, to a place with poorer soil.

Nearer to Spring I'll look on the Nursery Website near me, and see if they've got the Pink too...'Blaue Fontaine' are the ones I bought...(Blue Fountain) I would think...:)))
