Its a little beauty Linda, only about a foot tall. There are lots of flowers on it, and when fully open they are little blue balls.

I love this plant, saw a picture of it earlier in the year, managed to get some seed from Chilterns, germinated really easy, lots of little seedlings just pricked out, can't wait till next spring.

That's useful to know Kathy, I might try to grow some more from seed...they would look lovely in my long border if I could find a way to squeeze them in! Mind you, it might be a bit too wet and heavy there for them. This one is planted in a dry area and mulched with pea gravel.

Just remembered where I saw the picture it was on Andrewr's pictures, yes he told me they need good drainage and even in his gravel bed they didn't survive the winter, think I have the perfect spot :-)

Oh no! oh well, lets see how they do over the winter then Kathy!

Last winter was pretty extreme, surely we can't have another like that, fingers crossed they're ok, mine'll be too small to plant out till spring so they'll be snuggled in the greenhouse :-)

Don't count on it Kathy. Everyone is saying that we are in for another one this year....gosh I hope they are wrong, but I heard an 'expert' on radio 4 last winter say that the last time we had this pattern of weather was in the 1960s and that is lasted for 10 years......sorry!
