Well, you can dream Sticki! Yes, real amethysts embedded in the stone, which looked amazing in the light by the coast, but not quite so sparkly now that we've brought them home. They were mentioned in a folder of "info" provided by the owners, and the place was tricky to find, but we were glad we did!

Amy, the Presqu'ile de Crozon, which is west Finistere. If you can find Crozon on a map, then go right down the peninsula to the south towards the Cap de la Chevre; this spot was south-west of St Hernot, on the west coast of the peninsula.

I think Brittany is almost as big as Wales . . . so good luck!

I've been reading your blog Sheila it's a lovely spot for a holiday we were in Brittany last year we went further down to the Dordogne this year , I love going over there ! I will make a note so that if we go to that area again I will have a reminder .. :o))

Good idea . . . do you keep a special holiday notebook? If I "made a note" I doubt if I'd find it again, lol.

My OH keeps a diary of each day while we are away Sheila , It often comes in handy when we can't remember the name of a town or village or the milage to somewhere it makes interesting reading , we write interesting notes for future ref. in a back section .. I couldn't go to that trouble but he likes doing it :o)

I keep a diary of every holiday too . . . that's how I was able to give you the exact location of the photo! My trouble is I seem to use a different notebook each time, but your OH is obviously more efficient. :))

Thank you Janey, we did. I loved Camaret, an "artists' town" which reminded me of St Ives in Cornwall, and where we found a calligrapher at work in her studio. Ages ago I used to do calligraphy, and she inspired me to have another go . . . when I have time I will!
