Lol, Sandra, it landed on variegated Ivy, a Sunflower and a Hydrangea before it settled on the white Dahlia ... perhaps it heard me asking it to stay still? ... lol!

Our friends in Lincolnshire have had hundreds too..so it seems the East coast is the place to be..I think I have seen two or three at the most!

they have been lying basking in the sun on flowers, but also on the ground ,i have had to be careful not to stand on them.

They camouflage so well ... saw a Speckled Wood in Mum's summerhouse this afternoon ... think it came in to cool down! . . . . .
