While witnessing the shameful squabbling of young relatives over house contents of their deceased Grandmother I was asked by my sister in law would I like anything, I saw this wonderful pastel of a Lab in a cheap frame. I fear I saved it from the bin.

Definitly not dustbin material!! It looks marvelously professional....any signature?

OH my ole man the dustman.
He wore a dustman's hat.
He wore ole blimy trousers
And lived in a dustmen's flat!
Yes I sense you did salvage that from it's destiny,the rubbish. Good for you!
This reminds me of my own life. My folks passed away 1 day apart 12 years ago now. I live 3200 kilometers away and by the time I made it to their home it had been stripped of all the wealth, well so I thought until I found my mothers charm bracelet and her address book with all our relatives in it and letters she had saved. Sadly I found nothing from my father other than his tax papers which I took. He was an artist and all his works were gone. Enough of this. Have a Festive Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sorry to read about your experience Pink Floyd, I understand the value of sentimental items left by loved ones. I am glad I am not materialistic.

I wish I could say that but I love all my possessions, not more than my family or close friends of course but still love to fill my home with wealth of inadement objects. What is most important besides the wonderful memories I have of my past is having a few objects to hold and cherish from my family who are now gone.
