I think these grow in the central reservations of roads in the Canary Islands and they do look similar to bourganvillea except they're not climbers, they're more bushy (I could be wrong!)

Milky:
Is there a reason why people in the UK call Bougainvillea, Bourganvillea? I've seen it several times...I'm curious.

There may be Andy...but mine is I CANT SPELL........ha ha ha Lol......Ive not really noticed it before but will now have to check that spelling....

I've seen it spelled by several member in the UK this way. I was just wondering if that's how it was spelled on the tag. Sometimes local regions will spell specific plants differently (even though it may not necessarily be correct) it's happened many times in California.
