These are beautiful pictures! I love the way every branch gets defined and, when there is no wind, how silent it all becomes. Not a creature was stirring.......

We call these bullrushes.

I love this. Cattails in the snow! I might visit a local patch and see what I can catch on my camera. Well, during that hour of enough light. :-)

Thanks all! I suppose some further research will give me the difference (if there is one) between bulrushes and cattails! I know there are several types of these hardy water plants and have observed differences in various swamps around the district. will have to be a little more scientific in my labels.
