Thanks all ! It looked pretty much dead to me , sorry I haven't a clue as to what kind of tree it is , it actually looked as if it had been carved like a sculpture making a dead tree look interesting .... it does look like a wisteria stem N3 but it isn't .. :o)

It's quite clever isn't it HB they twists are all evenly space !

It was a surprise when we walked into the wood to see it, almost as though a giant had passed through and twisted it round for fun ;o)
