My daughter and I, plus Millie & Stanley, went on a 5 mile walk around Canterbury this morning. We passed this picnic table, beautifully carved with different birds and animals.

I hadn't thought of that, Amy. It was strange to find it so far from anywhere. I must admit to being shattered tonight and Millie hasn't moved apart from getting up to eat her dinner :) My bed is beckoning!

I would not like to meet that fierce looking fish on a dark night lol.

It did seem a strange creature to include with all the other friendly animals, Scotsgran :)

It could be a pike and they are common in British lakes and rivers I think. Well done on surviving the 5 mile walk.

Are they glued on or carved Gee?. The little water vole is so well done and the ducks are lovely. Never seen anything like that before.

Not 100% certain about the ducks, Dorjac, everything else was definitely carved. Next time I go I will look underneath :) I did look on the Canterbury website but although it mentioned the picnic table, it didn't give any details about who made it.

Thats lovely Gill ,it reminds me of Robert Thompson the mouse man who left a mouse carved on all his pieces of furniture ... 5 miles , you should be worn out after all that garden work !
