Love the way this one's flowers go from pink, to blue, to purple - excellent!

Is it good for lungs, Pim?

The leaves are said to resemble a diseased lung Kat..I think they were steeped and the vapour inhailed to ease a congested chest..Someone will know, but I doubt it actually did anything.

I was just testing you :)
Of course, this is very good plant for all kind of bronchitis (not for asthma so far). Flowers and leaves should be dried and then used as a tea (one full spoon for a cup of tea). It is very delicious with honey. For many years it was part of a remedy tea mixture in Czechoslovakia, called PULMORAN.

What a little Gem of information you are kat...we have this plant in our garden for the first time, it's one of OH favourites...but reading about the remedy for chest infections, I shall make sure it's on my drying list along with our herbs, thankyou.

Just a very little Gem, Sue :) You must have fertile land or a lot of humus, that what this plant likes.
