Pieris is a favourite shrub of mine and yours is a picture!

The Pieris seem tobe blooming lovely this year;0))

Thanks Wildrose..mine too..I love the foliage,with or without flowers..I have another,almost the same size..which was a layered cutting from this one..many years ago..

Thank you,Homebird..this was brought from our last house,10 years ago now,and it was in a pot for a while..I then moved it into a border,and just dug ericacous compost in,as mine wasn't the 'right' soil either..neither was it when it came here..but did the same,and have never had a problem..I just top dress it every year..after all,you see them growing in lots of gardens,so i'm sure everyone hasn't got the appropriate soil...how about a pot,if you are uncertain ? Worth a try...:o)

Yes,frost Pixi..it was below freezing on sunday night,and a keen white frost everywhere....last night,was borderline....so easy to get complacent when the sun is beating down in the daytime..in a matter of an hour,it had risen to 15 degrees !...another hot one forecast for today..:o))

that's a beauty - I never been any good at growing these - even in correct soils - this is great

Thanks Paul..the 'baby' is almost as big as the parent now..Maybe yours was in too much sun ? They prefer some shade..you could try again..another excuse to go shopping ! Lol.

..and just to cap it all..it gave some days in April to have a return to cold weather and wintery showers ! although,they are often wrong....get ready to batten down the hatches,Pixi..just in case :o(

Lovely Bloomer! One of our favourites too . . . made a raised bed 30 years ago specially for a Pieris, and it's very happy . . . not as many flowers as yours though. :)
