Hi Gattina...I'm a trial and error gardener..so if you are willing to take a chance ? Lol...mind you, that's what all of us are really ! :o) Are you getting excited at your trip back here soon?

27 Mar, 2012

Lol, Bloomer! I'm one of those, too. Recently, though it seems to be more errors than successes!
I'm not allowing myself to get all excited, it always leads to disaster, and it's a month away yet! I seem to find myself trying to fit too much in and the last twice I've made myself ill. (I get incredibly angry with myself, too, that my body does this to me now, which doesn't help) This time I'm trying to be very laid back about it, and intend to enjoy every minute of freedom. I do find myself waking up in the small hours worrying about coping with British motorways now, though. I am becoming what I always derided before - an elderly, overcautious, nervous driver. Very dangerous animals! This time I shall probably have your fuel tanker drivers' strike to contend with, too. Hurrah!

That is a pretty combo. I love Bowles mauve.

I have come across (but maddeningly can't find now) a site describing this as "Bowels" Mauve. The mind boggles. Doesn't make it any less pretty though.

oh,hecky thump ! wonder what they had been eating ? Lol.

Stunning combination, Bloomer . . . I shall now look for something "lemon" to put by my Bowles Mauve - any ideas?!

. . . just found a packet of Nicotiana 'lime green' seeds - they might look quite good . . . if they germinate!

That sounds a nice combination Sheila. I have this wallflower and take cuttings every year from it. The insects like the Nicotina flowers. I like the dwarf varieties to grow, as living on a hill it's a bit on the breezy side sometimes and the taller ones get blown down.

Thanks Sheilabub.. good job you found something to go wtm Bowles Mauve..as the first thing I thought of was Lemon Meringue ! Lol...and I have just had to edit this,as I gave the wrong name of the Daffs ...sorry folks ..
