"Spring is sprung, the grass (?) is riz......."

Everything in this tub has survived a couple of feet of snow on top of it for a few weeks. Gives you hope, doesn't it?

Beautiful colours Gattina. :))

"Spring is sprung the grass is riz,
I wonder where the flowers is" The wonderful Ogden Nash??

I thought it was
"I wonder where de boidies is. De boids is on de wing - no dat's absurd, surely de wings is on de boid."
Still Ogden Nash in spirit, if not the letter.

Lovely display,Gattina..It surely must be true, that the snow keeps them warm and insulated from the ice...living proof,I'd say :o)

What a beautiful photograph, it just made me smile! Such dainty flowers with such pretty colours.
Is it a skimmia in the background? We have just bought one and it is strongly scented similar to lily of the valley, the bees are supposed to like it!

Wildrose, I think of all the scented flowers, skimmia has the best perfume - unique and quite old-fashioned: strange thing is, I haven't noticed any bees or butterflies on it yet.
Maybe that'll change after this next weekend when we are due to take delivery of two hives with their own swarms (imported English queens to calm the flighty Italian bees down). Panicking slightly, as have no idea what we are supposed to be doing for and with them! Watch this space!

How exciting Gattina...!

You and OH will be dab hand Beekeepers in no time. Bumper crops for you this year.

Honey could be useful, too, or at least a good recompense for generous neighbours who bring eggs and vegetables.

Good luck!! I've a friend who keeps bees at a local community farm . . . lovely honey. :))
