Thank you Sticki yes I prune it with shears to keep it's roundish shape :o)

maybe i will be braver with mine this year? it has only flowered for the first time this year.

I only prune mine because it is so huge and prickly and I need to walk past it and weed etc. I'm not sure what the correct pruning procedure is :o)

They are quite old plants they were here when I moved in 1996 I have to to cut them back every year :o)
