Saxifrage

Lovely. I searched everywhere for that fly but couldn't spot it.

excellent shop pims, love saxafrages, took me ages to spot that fly..... near the middle Dwyllis on the pink petal :-))

I saw the fly right away as I had tons of them here yesterday for some reason:(((

Such a beautiful plant this! You mentioning the fly, I don't know if you had the same thing your way, there were loads of them all over the place yesterday, I have never seen so many. I was wondering whether the sun brought them out yesterday.

My own view here Scottish..But I think they are better as young plants before three years are up they need splitting as they tend to die off in the middle..Don't know what the others think??? Worth asking as a Q.

I will do P....I did have these years ago at my old house and I seem to remember they looked yukky after a few years - I ended up binning them. That was before I had 'any' confidence in gardening. Cheers

I think a lot of plants are likes that pimms, it frustrates me when they die off in the middle.

if you put soil in the middle it re-grows quite quickly, found that out last year i think it was Terra who suggested it, they do split reasonable easy just the roots can be a bit fiddly...

that's odd Sticki, how much soil did you put in the gap?

cant remember now, i thought it looked deep enough and spread wide enough to give good growth conditions??

i can't explain that then, i must admit i didn't know until i was told last year so maybe it doesn't always work it did on my little one...
