Mrs Duck (No. 2)

Mrs Duck (No. 2)

The second Mrs Duck has now settled onto her nest and has made it pretty with camellia petals. It is just a few feet from my back door and she emerges for breakfast(puffed wheat seems a favourite!) each morning when I raise the window blind.

What does Millie think of Mrs. Duck settled so close to the kitchen ?
Does Millie get Puffed Wheat too ? ;o)

Millie has peered at Mrs Duck once or twice but Mrs Duck just sits and stares back! Millie doesn't eat any of the bird food unlike Chloe and Mungo, bless them. Now, if it was sausages, that would be a different matter :)

I love the way the nest is decorated Gill , you will have them knocking on the door for puffed wheat if you dare to over-sleep ........

She was a bit put out this morning, Amy, as I had run out of puffed wheat. Instead she had Kellogs corn flakes -my favourite and I don't usually share :)

She looks really cosy on that nest under the Camellia Gee. Has she 'Puffed up' to keep warm or is she full of puffed wheat? Is it all down to Mrs Duck or does MR Duck take over when she leaves the nest to eat? Or is she a single mum all through the rearing of her ducklings? If so, I'm not surprised she's near your back door!

She is certainly full of my breakfast cereals, Dorjac, and won't let the other birds have a look in while she's feeding. Mr Duck doesn't help out with the nest sitting at all. In fact once all the eggs are laid he disappears completely, on to pastures new I suspect :)

Lovely Gee! What a fab place for her to be...a great B&B for her, good job she only wants cereals though...:)). Can't wait to see the babies....
