I just put it in damp soil with rotted matter and sunny site Dawn :))

Hi Paul, thanks for that. I dont think my Rodgersia likes my clay. I'll give it your conditions and see what happens.

ericaceous compost and vermiculite I added to begin as well as rotted fruit - it may not like very waterlogged that clay may give it - but I am no expert lol

Hi Paul. I appreciate your help. I'll try it. Uplifted and put in a big pot the other day. I have a bag of ericaceous, I'll sort it out next week.

Thanks DD - they were quite easy to grow :-) Have several all getting nice and big, like you say, perfect for the 'lake' edge, lol.
