Rose ...   '  Rugosa'   white

I broke a piece off a rose shrub in a hedge in France 4 years ago stuck it in a yoghurt pot until we came home , I'm thrilled it has grown and that this is it's 1st flower

Thanks Sticki , I googled it and I,m pretty sure you are right it matches perfectly ,if Lulu confirms it I will alter the name to fit .. :o)

you can also get a pink version of this, wish i had thought to break a little piece off ~ they were in the hebrides too! if its the same one lulu said they do not get black spot! also they have a scent ~ seems like a very good plant to me!

Looking at the thorns and leaf I would say that's definitely a Rugosa rose! It will have lovely red hips in the autumn...

im wondering if it would be a good hedge plant? interest all year, disease resistant and thorns to protect!!!!!!

Do give it a go Angela are you going this year ? Sticki it was a hedge that I took this cutting off it looked a lovely hedge with all it's flowers also it could with it's prickles deter unwanted visitors Like Badgers Angela !!

Sticki my cutting is approx 3ft tall now this is it's first flower !
