Aconitum 'Stainless Steel' and 'Gletcheris' with Veronicastrum has doubled in height since last year.
The echinops and monarda are trying their hardest - but I think it's just too wet for them!

Thanks Lil, Wildrose and Leighanne :)
Leighanne - there is veronica and veronicastrum - please don't ask me the difference :))))
I have few different Veronicastrums in the garden all are quite tall - this is just huge this year thought! I only have 1 veronica and it is nowhere near as big as this.
I'm off to google the difference and will get back to you :))

Lots of technical stuff out there Leighanne....

I've just looked on RHS...they have different common names too! Veronica is speedwell and Veronicastrum is Culvers Root. It tells me that Veronicastrum gets to 1.5m in height. Im sure the lables didn't say that high as I would never have planted them near the front!
There are many more veronica than there is veronicastrums and the veronicas come in many different forms but the veronicastrums all look very similar.

Oh it wouldnt let me download the link. yes the size seems to be the main difference, tho ive only seen the pink and blue veronicas, paulsgarden has a lovely example of the blue ones. are you able to move them back lol :o) maybe smaller pink veronicas would look nice infront of them!

Yes I will need to move them. I have a smaller pink veronica currently in a container underplanting a pink rose but both will be put into the borders for next year :)
