Its very much taller than my Johnson's blue -it starts off tall and then it flops over from the clump behind it, which grows up through the middle. Each flower stem is a good two feet long.

I can't see the flowers clearly, but I still think from your other comments that it could be 'Spinners'. Why not look at the photo on my plant page and see if it's the same?

How do I find your plants page? There isn't an option at the top of your profile page.

I have just found it Steragram - clicked on Garden above S's profile and up it came.

That's right - then it's in alphabetical order. I think about page 7?

Got it. I see what you mean though the petals on it seem to come to a bit of a point whereas mine are rounded. they are closed for the night now but I'll try to get a closeup tomorrow and put that on my photos

I've added a photo of this one in my photo file, and one I bought as Johnson's blue - similar flower, different habit.

If the leaves turn red in Autumn its probably Johnsons blue. Mine has just started changing colour and it does have long stems about 2 ft long.

Interesting. The one I bought years ago as Johnson's Blue doesn't turn red and in fact has totally disappeared for the winter already. Also the stems don't grow upright but spread out quite low whereas the ones in question grow up tall before flopping over. The one I was asking about still has a clump of fresh green leaves, though they will disappear eventually.

...and I'm not Iciar though GOY periodically seems to think I am!
Maybe its my original plant that was misnamed after all?

If you want to see some suitable for shade have a look at
plantsforshade.co.uk/ - only a fraction of what's available but a good reliable supplier. They have very different habits and flowering periods and a few are evergreen, so decide what you want from them before deciding.

It looks as if it might be Geranium 'Johnson's Blue'? - Mine does just the same as this, the flowers are in front of the plant.
