For Jane - sheep racing at Montese

I thought you might round your troublesome sheep up and get them entertaining you and earning their keep while they are waiting for the freezer. :o))))

Doesn't matter where you go in the world there will always be a silly pastime, usually based on betting.

Oh brilliant! Love it. looking at the shape of them, they are definately heading for the freezer. What fatties. I can just imagine them tying the jockey sheep on. lol Jx

The strange thing is, you virtually never see sheep in the fields in this part of the world.

Our neighbour's sheep are all too busy to race - they're out in the fields having lambs! Every couple of days we hear a mad bleating and see a tiny pink-ish lamb being carried back to the corral followed by its panicking mum, then everything settles until the previous lambs manage to get the new lamb into mischief, then it's all panic again until each lamb is with its own mum! Silly creatures! I think if our lot set off to 'race' they'd go in different directions. ;o)

I used to help a couple of farmers at lambing time (did a course at agricultural college). I thought sheep were silly creatures without an ounce of brain but they are quite intelligent in a wooly sort of way.

I think you get behind 'em with a sharp stick, Fran.

Trust me, opening a sack of sheep shreds has a similar effect. Tons of woolly muscle charging down the fields towards you. Not for the faint hearted. Jx
