ah how did I miss this? have added it to goypedia.
Is it lavender lady? unfortunately mine died over winter in the polytunnel, it was near a slight gap so i think it got frosted

Stevie this was a £1.79 Morries plant....isnt it gorgeous, It was just called Violacea, thanks for adding it to goy'ia, it has been slow to grow and have had three flowers, two just this week! Hope I dont lose it, they dont like being moved do they?? It is growing in an old chimney pot, shall I cover it over with fleece?

10 Oct, 2012

Well I am not sure but if its one of those thats come on very late in the season then it would probably prefer it warmer/hotter, do you have a conservatory/greenhouse/polytunnel? not sure to be honest

10 Oct, 2012

Hardiness quoted ranges from -1°c to -8°c...............

10 Oct, 2012

Stevie, I have neither greenhouse/poly/conservatory I'm afraid just a porch which faces south, but the pot its in is huge and cannot be moved :(
Meanie, thank you, I might have to take a chance.

10 Oct, 2012

I think its that of the root gets chilled then thats not good, maybe put some straw around the lower stem and put things around the pot maybe : )

10 Oct, 2012

Ok Stevie, will wrap its cotton socks up nice and cosy. Thank you. :) Just purchased a new P.flower on e.bay £2.79 ! will keep this one in the porch and pot it up in the spring, its all your fault you know, you started me off on this! Lol

soz about that lol,
I have had ones I have kept on the trellis and sheltered their pots, kept a couple of on there this year, a caerulea and a white lightning but even though its s/sw facing and gets very warm there with direct sunlight they still came on very late. Thats why I put the others in the polytunnel and got flowers all the way from May. the caerulea didn't even flower or do much!
I'll over winter them in the tunnel this winter and see what space there is next season

Nice one S. I suspect the high cold winds dont help that is why the p.tunnel is invaluable.

We had a purple one at our little Library. I waited every year to see the new flowers. It bloomed against a brick wall
so was protected somewhat. And the leaves just heaped up on top. And then one year, no more Passion flower. It just lost its verve. I think it is a chance, so like so many other plants, maybe and maybe not. But somehow the first one is the one you will remember! What a great photo!

Many thanks Wells, you are so right though, we have to take chances with many of our plants dont we? As you say I have the photo for my memory, but secretly hope it comes back next year.
