I think I've heard of this, an old favourite, isn't it? what's the perfume like?

Yes, it was voted the 'Nation's Favourite Rose' a while ago. It does have a good scent!

thanks, dear, i'll add it to my list

Uh-oh, I'm getting people to spend money again! lol.

lol this is my "list of plants when I have space for them" ie when I move somewhere with a bigger garden. I doubt I'd have room for even a miniature rose at the moment

One day, then...

We have this one, not done at all well this year, but then, none of our roses have done very well.

only two of mine have flowered, one only once; i thought it was just me, and for all I know it is; mine are hardly well-developed rose bushes (rose twigs, more like).

But oh, I've got such a list of rosesfor when I can! and this is near the top.

I'm having a mixed success rate with mine. Some are flowering their socks off for the second time, while others are sulking and not looking at all happy. Strange!

Fran - if you want an excellent and pretty climber, look at 'Handel'. :-)))

thanks Sticki, I'll check it out right away

thirty seconds later - wow! that's gone right to the top of the list

I liked mine so much I planted another one this year! :-)))

I still haven't planted my trelils yet; i did get some Sweet Pea seeds - that way if it didn't work it would only be annual plants, not a permanent shrub. But first I need to do a bit of sorting around the trellis base, move some stuff, and I've not really felt like it yet. Plenty of time, I hope! depends on what time of year the seeds should be planted. But maybe they can grow elsewhere ...

As for Sweet Peas - I start mine in pots in the greenhouse in October ready to plant out in the spring. Or you can sow them in the spring - up to you.

thanks, Spritz. Think I'll wait, I keep forgetting that seeds and baby plants in the greenhouse need watering even when it's been raining!

I usually sow mine in the autumn so I can plant them out early...but yes, it's a bit of a hassle.
