Acidanthera,Peacock orchid or Gladiolus callianthus

Was so pleased to find one of these was in flower today.....It is a member of the Gladiolus family,but is known by a few names.I remember planting the bulbs in the Spring.....they prefer moist conditions,which is probably why they have done well this Summer.the fragrance is beautiful!Such an elegant flower....must plant some more next year!

That's lovely. I bought some of these and then read they were tender - so binned the packet!!

Mine never flowered last year, so i tried them again this year...no luck...:<(

I was told to maybe start them early under cover, as they need a long growing season?...:>)
