spider catching bee

this little spider can actually change its colour to fit the surroundings, makes him almost impssible to see, for humans anyway! dont know how a bee would see him,

Those little spiders look like pieces of antique enameled jewellery...but he's doing his job too well...take the bad guys and leave the bees, please! :-)

i am afraid it didnt Hywel.
in spite of all the bad press re honey bee situation, i have fortunately seen quite a lot in my garden this year and a few swarms too, so here's hoping things are getting better.

Have noticed the same over here. When the verbascum started to bloom the whole front yard was abuzz. They were in the low growing white clover lawn so thick that it wasn't safe to walk barefoot! The asters and Golden Rod are in full swing now and they are still at work...the hummingbirds are still around too...they will disappear soon.
