Now the sun is lower in the sky, and doesn't rise above the barn wall, this side of the garden will be in heavy shade till next April. Dahlia Bishop of Llandaff, a gift from Amy, shines brilliantly among the tranquil greens.

Thanks girls! This is at the back Carole, the wall is part of the right hand side of the garden, it's an outbuilding belonging to next door. Thats a tiny little bird bath, from an auction, which I painted as you couldn't see the birds when it was grey. Oh, no L & D then for me this year, how are the new ones coming along?
Thanks Moti, I planted the Bishop in a tub, which is great as you can put it where you want then...:o)
I love bright red with green Sandra...they both look brighter together...:o)

Janey The young ones are very greedy and try to hog the seed dish by spreading their wings over it, its quite a free for all and they come 2-3 times a day for feeding lol

Yes, my woodland border is half in shade permanently now until May. The other half is rapidly disappearing in to shade too. Still, some plants love shade thank goodness!
