Rhododendron foliage

Earlier this year my Rhododendron Shamrock decided it wanted to change the colour of it's foliage to a kind of purple. The bottom half of the plant is unaffected. I fed it with Sequestrine just in case it was missing some nutrients.
Now in October the foliage is still the same - and as you can see healthy enough other wise - I love the foliage this colour!!

I like the new colour :o)
Strange it's done this. I have a Holly which has always had yellow berries, but this autumn they're turning red !

I have some rhododendrons which have new growth in red but then next year they turn green and the new shoots are red again.

Sounds interesting. I have never seen such rhododendrons. Maybe it is some new variety.

It looks quite similar to my Rh. Ebony Pearl, but as far as I know, it has always had red leaves. Strange, but very lovely, especially when the flower was out. Great contrast between the cream flower and the red leaves. I hope it does ok, it certainly looks healthy. :)

Thanks for all your comments - I do hope it stays like this and the other leaves decide to join it :))
