You may have lots of conifers there Paul, but they are all different shapes, sizes and colours. A lot of thought went into the planting - well done you it's looking so good!

Looking good Paul. We used to have a black net over the pond that stopped most of the leaves going in.

Thanks Linda :-))

Every few years we would catch the fish put them into the rain barrel and drain the pond to clean out all the leaves as it used to become a sludgy mess. The temperature and water content in the rain barrel was the same as the pond so the fish were happy in there for a day or two, then transfer them back to the pond. We tried to leave the water for a while before putting the fish back in as they don't like change of temperature or water. Having the net helped a great deal to keep the pond cleaner.

That is a great idea Linda - I have thought about in future having 2 ponds - one for nature alone - one for fish - I put mine in the bath at the time - it was mild weather so hopefully the temps were near enough - I believe tap water is as warm at 20 degrees though
