Lovely visitor, isn´t she?

All fluffed up to keep in the warm. I love these birds and their cooing song, reminds me of my grandparents garden and lying in my bed early in the morning, listening.

We've been feeding ours extra rations to help them through the cold nights .....

Sluggy's been watching our two big, fat pigeons feeding on the lawn and last night she was watching ptarmigans on TV!

so was I lulu ~ wish i could have been up there seeing them myself

What are ptarmigans?

I think they are part of the grouse family but they have white feathers in winter:
