The Rock Garden at Leonardslee

The Rock Garden at Leonardslee

The days are so grey and chilly now, (it's trying to snow here in the so-called "sunny" South!), that I thought an image of the Rock Garden at Leonardslee Gardens would cheer us all up.

I know the gardens are closed now to the general public but I'm sure lots of us have photographs taken when it was open, so how about posting some of them to add colour to our depressingly grey days?

Lovely photo ... such a shame these gardens are now closed ... three generations of our family have been visiting them over the years.

No idea who has bought the place. It would be great if he/she opened up the gardens occasionally (especially in Spring), for charity.

An international businessman apparently ... their website states they shall re-open in the future ... but I can't see when that comment was posted! Rumours going around that more Deer have been brought in ... watch this space!

Leonardslee is still closed, sadly.

This is the image I mentioned elsewhere, Sheilabub. It's a lovely section of the garden.

Yes, the closure of Leonardslee is a real loss. I loved visiting. There were wallabies there that helped with the "maintenance". Rhododendrons are toxic to them so they made perfect "gardeners", cropping the weeds, and fertilizing the areas!

Phew, I thought it was some garden you were keeping up on your place. It is something of an eyeful. Not exactly real! But loved seeing your pic.

Walking along the path in between those splendid flowers was really something. Wonder if there are changes there.
