It does make you think of childhood. ope the fish don't get them all, because I need one to hip hop up here to my pond!

20 Apr, 2013

lol yes i've been feeding the fish more than normal to hopefully give them a better chance.

20 Apr, 2013

thanks Hb, thiis was the first lot that got frozen by the frosts, it's nice to see they made it.

20 Apr, 2013

Isn't that incredible? That these could survive in eggs through all that frost.

20 Apr, 2013

it is, i was so worried about them Karen, they were frozen solid in the ice for three - five days but seem to have come through it fine..

20 Apr, 2013

More semolina, HB? ;-)

20 Apr, 2013

lol :-)

20 Apr, 2013

Meant tapioca.
Going ga-ga. Lol.

20 Apr, 2013

Lol

20 Apr, 2013

We knew what you meant! :)). Ugh....still can't stand tapioca! Semolina however, yum! Haven't had any for years....must get some!

21 Apr, 2013

Sounds like you loved school dinners, HB.

22 Apr, 2013

We used to call tapioca frog spawn....LOL. Nice to see the tadpoles. Next generation.

24 Apr, 2013

Lol Lindak, thanks :-)

I'm making one tomorrow Homebird, must admit I'm not all that keen but Gerry likes a bread and butter pudding so I put nuts into my half and make it with some single cream and egg yolks a little milk and cut up bread spread with butter.

24 Apr, 2013

Rubber pudding, HB. Lol.

24 Apr, 2013

I cut the crusts off, and I leave it all to soak for half an hour before I cook it. I like it like a thick custard pudding rather than a dried up one but I know what you mean Homebird. I've had a few dried up crusty bread puddings in the past.

25 Apr, 2013

That sounds awful Homebird. It's nice with the walnuts and dates. A bit different to using sultanas although I have thrown a handful in as well. I loosely cover the pudding with tinfoil for half the cooking and the top doesn't get so dried up.

Sad you haven't had any tadpoles HB. Nice to see Sl has a thriving lot. Have they developed legs yet?

6 May, 2013

The first lot have Lindak, there was 11 piles so I'll have to watch where I walk later in the year :-)

6 May, 2013

They will be good for the garden though Sl. We used to get a lot of frogs and a few toads in the garden where we used to live and the little frogs got everywhere. One of the larger toads always lived in the large greenhouse in one shady corner. I used to place a few stones around the flowerbeds and half buried a few clay pots side-wards in the shady places so that they could go in and rest.

6 May, 2013

I make dry stone walls around some of my shade beds so there's plenty of nooks and crannies for frogs and things. Saw newts and a little lizard last year although the lizard moved to fast to photo..

6 May, 2013

Lovely to see lizards and newts. Aren't they protected species now Sl.

7 May, 2013

yes i agree, not to sure there i know some are protected but they are all safe here with us :-)

7 May, 2013

that's good to know that someone is looking after them.

7 May, 2013

:-)

8 May, 2013

That's good news Hb :-) glad they made it.
