I have one of these too, no flowers yet but it seemed quite late last year :o)

I have this one Angela we pruned ours hard last year , we planted it on the day our granddaughter was born 20 years ago yesterday ! I alway look forward to seeing it in flower on her birthday :o)

Hb that is right, like tiny rosebuds......Amy OH is training them in to tulip shapes, what a lovely idea of yours to have a tree planted in honour of your granddaughter....

I don't ever remember seeing this plant grown here.

When I hear word, Hawthorn, I think of Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis indica), which grows wild everywhere here in California.
